“The world we have created is the result of our thinking; it cannot be changed without changing our thinking.”
– Albert Einstein
Well, it signifies that the only way we can build a better world is by creating a better us. Now, a question arises, what constitutes a better us and how do we become so?
Well, in the early years of life, the human mind is self-centred and materialistic so that a person can maximise the chances of his/ her survival. An ability to get concerned with more than oneself develops gradually with time. The universe causes this transformation in various ways.
But generally, at first, the universe plants a desire of materialism in the mind of a person. As one tries to achieve one’s materialistic goals, the universe creates challenges in his/ her path. To overcome these challenges the person needs to look deep inside himself/ herself. As one does so, one finds out more about oneself and the universe, and in the process gets transformed and enlightened. Therefore, an enlightened you is a better-you.
A better-you would see yourself as a wave of distinct consciousness within the ocean of cosmic-consciousness. Such a perception will make you realise that the world is your family and there are no others. This will fill your heart with warmth, empathy and love for all.
Now, a better-world implies a world free of hunger, injustice and violence. It means building a world where people are enlightened, free and respected. The enlightened people, with the feeling of oneness with all, would naturally explore ways for the betterment of the world. They would put the interest of the world before their own interests. Also, they would naturally seek to establish a World Union of Free Nations where people are bound together by the force of love.
To end, let us conclude with the following quotation-
“Wherever there has been an expansion in love or progress in well-being, of individuals or numbers, it has been through the perception, realisation, and the practicalisation of the Eternal Truth- the oneness of all beings.”
Swamy Vivekanand
Therefore, let us work together to create a revolution through the evolution of consciousness!
